Portland, Maine Family Shoot

Last weekend my family and I traveled to Maine to visit family and attend a concert. We absolutely love staying in Portland with Chris's family; their condo is so beautiful and the perfect location downtown! They also get some incredible light flowing in through their large windows ... so of course we took advantage. Here are some photos from Sunday morning, just lounging around.

Hidden Gem!

I went home briefly for the weekend, and my sister had told me about a little hidden gem in Waterville (Maine) that we needed to check out! Brunch is my favorite thing ever, and there aren't many places at home that we can really go! Barrel's Community Market on Main Street is definitely my new spot! Barrel's is a super cute co-op that specializes in all natural foods that are locally sourced. There is live music on the weekends and large family style tables to sit and chat over coffee, tea or fresh apple cider! They sell homemade jellies, jams, salsa, honey, breads, cookies, and also have a large selection of produce as well. When we got there last Saturday, there were just baked pumpkin glazed donuts at the counter - so yummy! My sister ordered an omelette with spinach, tomatoes, cheddar and bacon - which was super fresh and good. They also had raspberry & blueberry glazed scones, which sadly I had to turn down after my second donut! (Oops!)
Anyhow, I'm basically writing this in support of Barrel's! We NEED to sustain places like this in our area - and I hope the community can get behind them and spread the word about this little treasure, right in our back yard!

Surprises in Kennebunkport!

This weekend, I surprised my sister Lindsey in Kennebunkport for her upcoming 32nd birthday! My mom and I planned a little getaway for her at the Tides Beach Club (my favorite place in Kbunk) and had the BEST time. Chris and I stayed at Tides for our mini-moon so I was excited to return and to share it with my two favorite women! There is a restaurant on site so you don't have to leave for dinner & the food is amazing! We all got the lobster roll, served warm with garlic butter on a toasted roll. For dessert we shared the pumpkin creme brûlée which was also divine! I took so many photos in just 24 hours, so I will share some with you all.
If you're looking for getaway, even just for the night, I HIGHLY recommend Tides! They are closing for the winter season on November 1st, and will be having great deals that final weekend on ocean view rooms!
