My Fave Swimsuits...

ashandlo.jpg

We are getting there!!! I can feel the air changing - and I am SO ready for pool & beach weather!!!

I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like I collect at least a few new swimsuits at the start of spring/summer every year :) This year I’m adding a few bikinis and one-pieces to the mix…so I wanted to share a few of my faves. I alway love ASOS, H&M, Forever21 (although their bottoms can be a little too “cheeky” for me!), J.Crew (when they’re having a good sale!), and Amazon (I make sure to read the reviews!).

I just got this one from H&M and I am so excited about the rusty color AND the high waist bottoms with the v-shaped waistband!! They are usually hit or miss for me, but I’m hoping for a win here! Ha! I was also really into this one-piece because it’s simple and would be comfortable for a day at the beach with the kids. It comes in a bunch of prints/colors - but I like the leopard print! :)

Hope you all have an amazing Tuesday! Here are some favorite swimsuits of now…and I threw in my favorite $20 cover up for you too - it’s a MUST…love it!

Happy Birthday, London!

Lolo4.jpg

Our sweet girl is THREE in just a few days and we have been so busy getting ready for this move that it came ridiculously fast. I can't seem to wrap my head around it. HOW is our little 6 pound, 12 ounce little sweetie already this BIG amazing girl?! The time has literally gone by at lightening speed and I just want it to slow down.

London is truly a dream come true in every way and she's blossomed so much this past year. She's incredibly bright, witty, sweet, courageous, and BEAUTIFUL. People tell us all the time what a leader she is and how "no one will ever push her around" and it makes my heart so happy. We are trying our best to raise a world-changer; a champion for God, for what's good and right, and maybe for those who don't have a voice. I'm enamored with her in every way and there aren't enough words to describe my love; it's just overwhelming. She truly is my best friend and I'm so excited to see what this next year has in store...and how she will embrace her new role in just a few weeks!

Happy Birthday, sweetheart! Maybe one day you'll see this and just know how OBSESSED I am with you...I love you BEYOND!

Budget-Friendly Fall Boots...

Living in New England has so many perks and one of those is being able to enjoy all four seasons! Fall is one of my favorites. I love the coziness of it all; hot cocoa, crockpot meals, pumpkin everything, apple spiced candles, and the FASHION. Accessorizing with scarves, layering with jackets, and cuffing your jeans to go with your perfect Fall boots :) Today, I'm sharing some boots/ankle booties! Every single pair of boots I'm sharing are under $100! (Happy dance!)

I hope you enjoy ... thanks for stopping by!

Red Fall Trend...

I really love the bold red color trend we're seeing this Fall. If you're not into the bright crimson red, a more understated maroon could be the perfect fit for you! Looking at images from NYFW, there were a lot of "head to toe" crimson looks. Personally, that's a bit much for me BUT I do love specific pieces in red like a fun, fiery blouse paired with a red lip or incorporating the color as an accessory in the form of a handbag. (Side note: my favorite long-lasting lip stain is "Always Red" by Sephora).

If you're interested in the shirt I'm wearing below I've linked it here. It's just $10 and it's pretty perfect for fall. Loose + comfortable, but the ruffle detail at the bottom dresses it up. I'm wearing a size small for reference!

I'm also sharing other red pieces from Nordstrom that are some of my faves right now! Happy Friday + happy shopping!

Blush...

In LOVE with this color always ... but especially in the new Fall pieces for this season. A few of my faves are below ... like this mock-neck sweater with the perfect bell sleeves (which is under $40!) and this STUNNING trench coat, under $150! You can also rock this coat in the spring as well! My little "splurge" of the season, may have to be this embellished crossbody ... isn't it gorgeous? Seriously. It's under $200, which I feel is a pretty great price from a statement piece like this!

Fall Sweaters Under $50...

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! We made it through week one of potty training in our house (which I'll save for a whole other post), but so far so good! We seem to be out of diapers for good - and no turning back now :) Yay!

Today is all about sweaters because it feels like FALL officially! The chilly mornings have me pretty excited! There are some great sales on Nordstrom right now - so I wanted to share some of my favorites under $50! A lot of them are even under $40! Amazing, right?! Enjoy shopping below! I'm having a hard time not scooping them all up! Thanks for stopping by!

"Fall-Approved" Athleisure Wear...

Last week we spent time in Maine and discovered the cutest bakery with the yummiest bagels and muffins I've ever had! They also had pretty amazing cookies that were about the size of my face! If you plan to visit the Portland area in the coming weeks, make sure Scratch Bakery Co. is on your list of "must-visits!" Thank goodness I wore my stretchy pants too - I needed all the extra room I could get :) You can shop my $12 joggers here (they run small, so size up! I'm wearing a medium!) I also shared some more "Fall-approved" athleisure wear below! Enjoy!

Cape Elizabeth, Maine...

beach11.jpg

My family and I decided to spend our vacation in the place we love so much...MAINE. Chris and I have vacationed in Maine the past 7 years (could be more? Too lazy to do the math) ...but the moral of the story is, we just can't get enough of it. We typically go to Kennebunkport and stay at a hotel or bed & breakfast, but we decided to rent a house this year!

We have never used Airbnb but have always heard great things about it from friends and family who have! I started sifting through properties throughout Southern Maine everywhere from Kennebunkport to Ogunquit to York, Wells, etc. I happened upon a Cape Elizabeth beach house and immediately fell in love. The reviews showed that guests absolutely loved the home (which has been recently renovated) and that it was a perfect location in reference to the beach. It was also 3-bedrooms which was the perfect size for our little family! We were so excited it was available to book!

When we arrived there were fresh flowers on the table, a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge and ground coffee from C Salt ready to be brewed. Such a warm welcome! The decor was very "beachy" and modern, with a big farmhouse-style sink, floating shelves, and the prettiest shade of green cabinets in the kitchen that caught my eye! We simply loved every little touch! Of course, London immediately wanted to check out the beach - which was just a short walk. Thankfully, the home owners provided us with the cutest wagon to cart everything down! It was really such a perfect set-up. I had never been to Crescent Beach so I was excited to check it out! It's pretty perfect for little ones because it's so calm, being that it's a cove. There are tons of rocks, which could have kept Lo busy for hours - she loved to throw them and also collect them in her bucket. Kettle Cove is another small beach area where we took Lo to search the seaweed for crabs!

Not only was the location of the home so close to the beach, but it was also close to Portland, where we had planned to take the 15-minute ferry ride to Peaks Island. We rented a golf cart and were able to get around the whole island in just an hour - even making a few stops to see where my husband attended elementary school and the home that he grew up in! It was so much fun to share it with London, and she absolutely loved bombing around on the golf cart!

We were able to have a few friends and family members over to check out our little beach home and spend quality time with us which was really special. It's definitely a place we can't wait to return to and build more memories together! I wanted to share some photos with you - and if you're interested in checking out the home further, you can click here!

Thanks for stopping by!

10 Mom Truths...

Who knows "Cat and Nat?" They're an amazing mommy duo - and if you don't know them, you need too, STAT! They do a little special called "Mom Truth Fridays" so it inspired me to write out my own list of truths because it's always more fun to laugh at yourself than cry - which I'm sure a lot of us could do on some occasions, #amiright? Needless to say, I hope you chuckle at a few of these and maybe even relate to some of them too! Let me know your faves below! :)

1. When another mom, say at the playground, tries to "mom date" me ... I feel like just saying "I'm taken." I'm already balancing three mom-friend relationships and that's enough for me! (P.S. They're my actual friends now, not just my "mom friends" ...but you get what I'm saying!)

2. When London throws herself on the ground because I put peanut butter on her toast instead of butter I have to try REALLY hard not to laugh out loud. I cannot handle the absurdity of these meltdowns. Here's another one: I wouldn't let her stick her hands in the toilet bowl and swirl the water around. I know, I'm such a bad mom.

3. I LOVE SCREEN TIME. There, I said it! Can't we both just sit in one spot and zone out for 20(ish) minutes? What is so wrong with that? I even got the 'ok' from my pediatrician so THERE to any of you judge-y moms reading this and thinking badly of me! ;)

4. Coffee is LIFE. There were many times in my life when I spoke the words "I will never drink coffee regularly" ... BLASPHEMY! WHAT in the WORLD was I thinking? Oh - that's right...I was making crazy statements like that pre-baby, as you do! What I MEANT to say was "I will definitely drink coffee every day, sometimes two and three times a day, when I have a kid." Boom!

5. You wanna know another thing I said pre-Lolo? "I will never have a schedule. I'm gonna take my baby everywhere with me - they'll just sleep when they're tired!" Fast Forward to present day....I'm a schedule F-R-E-A-K. My life revolves around my 2-year old's nap time and bed time and I'm not even upset about it. This may not work for some people (which is totally cool), but knowing that I get 2+ solid hours of "me" time every day is enough to make me want to stick to this schedule like flies on .... you catch my drift.

6. Nope. No way. I've never farted in front of my husband and blamed it on my daughter! (I have) Did he call me on it? He sure did. Sad to say I was only a little bit embarrassed. And here lies my dignity.

7. I would rather pick London's nose for her and wipe it on my own shirtsleeve, then let her walk around being THAT kid with the booger hanging out and visible to the public.

8. No matter how much time I spend with Lo (which is all day every day because, STAY AT HOME MOM) I never ACTUALLY feel like it's enough. Translation: Mom guilt always, forever, and no matter what.

9. I'm not above a good bribe. Target almost always = a scone from Starbucks, grocery shopping = a cookie from the bakery and potty training will = M&M's. (Sorry, not sorry)

10. Here's a final "mom truth" for you...When I say "I'm tired" to a mom that has multiple kids and she looks at me like I have three heads and says "wait until you have two" I want to give major eye roll. I GET IT...I have one kid. Yes, my kid sleeps through the night but does that mean that I am not allowed to be tired? I am dealing with 2-year-old tantrums, nights when my baby is up sick all night, a husband who travels a lot and works long hours, etc. I'm sure when I have another I'll be a whole new level of tired than I am now - but THIS is my reality today...so let me just be + say I'm tired too, ok? Phew. I'm glad that's out :)

Ok ... what are some of your "truths?!" I need to laugh some more today ... leave them below!

Travel Style...

This week I'll be sharing a few travel-related posts with you all, since we are heading to Charleston, SC! I'm SO excited and I've been researching places to go like a crazy woman! My husband's basketball team will be playing in their conference tournament there so since he'll be busy, we are flying my mom down to be with us! It will be our first time to Charleston and I'm so excited to explore such an incredibly historic and beautiful place!

I've started packing a bit (since it takes me forever to sort through what I need to bring) ... and the first order of business is planning a travel outfit! I always like to be comfy, but still fashionable. I've put together a few outfit ideas for you to check out below, and you can shop each outfit through the links below the graphic! Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day, Lovers!

I posted this outfit on my Instagram and wanted to share here also! I feel like we had such a mild winter up until this past week! We've had so much snow dumped on us here in Boston, and all I can think of is Spring! The snow, although annoying to manuever in, is so beautiful - especially after a fresh snowfall. I took these photos at my parents farm a few weeks ago with my favorite photographer, Patti Takacs (you can check out her site here!) I love the contrast between the white of the snow and the dark outfit/red lip! The red lip stain "Always Red" that you see me wearing is from Sephora and it's my absolute favorite! It's only $14 and it's so long-lasting. The jacket I actually stole from my mom for this shot (Thanks, Mom!) - it's J.Crew and classic wool blend. I linked a few look-a-likes above!

Favorite Fall Finds ON SALE NOW...

This past weekend, my mom came to spend a few days with us so the hubby and I were able to get away for brunch and some shopping (which we never get to do together!) Even though we felt like we were rushing, it was nice to get a few hours to run around the city like we did before baby ;) Chris went on a little spree to boost his fall wardrobe - and I tried my best not to get side-tracked looking at all of the women's stuff! I wanted to focus on him, since he never takes time to shop for himself! Besides, I get to put fun Fall lists together for all of you which is basically like shopping every day! Today's list is all about a good SALE! I'm always on the lookout ... especially when they're STEALS like the ones above! Can you believe these Dolce Vita booties marked down to $70? This jacket by Calvin Klein is on my must-have list also! I love the camel color ... perfect for fall! I know I've shared these sneakers before - but they're definitely worth another share! Trendy AND comfortable ... for all my stylish mama's out there! Cardigan lovers ... this looks like the softest cardi ever (Free People)!
