Our little love is 11 months old and we are watching her become more and more independent every day! It's so incredible to see how her little personality is blossoming! She is super sweet, gentle, sensitive, and at the same time feisty + definitely not afraid to tell you what she wants! She is standing on her own now (when she wants too ;), walks while holding just one of my hands, and understands things like "can Mommy have that?" ...or, "do you want a drink?" I don't know when it happened that she began to comprehend what I am saying to her, but it's the coolest thing ever! Right now, we are on our family vacation in Florida and I feel like this is such an amazing age for the beach. London is loving the sand, salt water, and the seashells, which make fantastic teething toys ;) I can't believe in just a few weeks we will be celebrating her first birthday! Until then, I'll be soaking up these summer days and making new memories with her!
Favorite Food: Strawberries. This is a new development since for the longest time I was trying to get her to eat them. Each time, she preferred blueberries or raspberries. All of a sudden, she can't get enough and since Grammy & Grampy have a strawberry farm (that we'll be spending lots of time at this summer), this makes me very happy ;)
Favorite Thing To Do: Cuddle her "blankie" and hug her stuffies. Guys....it's SO. FREAKING. CUTE! I can't stand it. She has a white fuzzy blanket that she sleeps with (and sucks on to fall asleep), and she carries it with her wherever she goes. She also loves to gather up her stuffies all together for a "group hug." I melt every single time.
Most Aww-Worthy Moment: She has totally discovered her laugh and that it's suuuuper funny to make Mommy + Daddy laugh. As soon as she gets us laughing, she can't stop, then we can't stop and the cycle continues. She has such a great giggle! Also, the open-mouth kisses are happening rather frequently now, and on demand ... THAT will never get old!
Most Exciting Thing She Did: She's standing on her own now and today she took one baby step forward before slowly lowering herself to the floor. She's a "furniture-surfing" pro now, and it's just a matter of time before she takes her first steps! So exciting / terrifying :)
Biggest Thing I've Learned: It's ok to let her cry and fuss a little. I think as a first-time mom, it's easy to jump at every sound that your baby makes. After all, it's our motherly instinct. I've been trying to let her "deal" a little bit when this happens and not jump at every beckon call. For example, I find that London will fuss when she gets hungry and I'll rush around like a maniac, frantically trying to get her food together. It was completely stressing me out at eating times, so I just decided I would give her a few cheerios on her high chair tray, to buy me enough time to prepare her dinner without feeling my blood pressure start to rise! Just a small thing that can make a big difference!
