With the holidays fast approaching, I've been researching some DIY projects I can create and give as gifts to my loved ones. Of course, Pinterest is my favorite website to find ideas...there are THOUSANDS! I came across this festive gingerbread body scrub and thought I would give it a try at home before giving as a gift. I was really happy with how it came out, the consistency was perfect and the smell - DIVINE! Who doesn't love gingerbread? All you'll need is a mason jar, red ribbon to tie around the lid, and a label (which you can create right on the computer!) You will probably have a lot of the ingredients needed for this scrub, already in your kitchen! This recipe makes about 2.5 cups of sugar scrub - so probably good for just about 3 jars!
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup almond oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp all spice
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Directions: In a medium sized bowl, mix all ingredients together except the oils. Gradually add the oils until scrub reaches desired consistency. Scoop gingerbread scrub into a mason jar and add a bow and label!
